Effective June 29, 2026, Yakima County Fire District No. 5 has officially assumed responsibility for fire protection and emergency response services within the City of Toppenish under the recently approved interlocal agreement between the City of Toppenish and Yakima County Fire District No. 5.

This transition ensures the continued delivery of professional fire suppression, emergency medical response, rescue services, fire prevention, and public safety programs to residents, businesses, and visitors throughout the community.

The partnership is designed to strengthen fire and emergency services while maintaining a commitment to public safety and operational excellence. Residents can continue to expect prompt emergency response through 911 and the same dedication to protecting lives and property.
