Toppenish City government is enhanced by the citizen volunteers who serve on its boards, commissions, and committees. Some of these boards function in an advisory capacity to the City Council on selected community issues, while others have the authority to render binding decisions. From time to time, the City Council also appoints special interim groups to provide recommendations on specific issues in accordance with Chapter 2.30 Advisory Commissions in the Toppenish Municipal Code.
